Human or Animal & Hazard Related Study

If the research work involves the use of human/animal subjects, ethical approval or exemption letter should be obtained from the IRB/ethical committee/institution head. Scan copy of the ethical approval/exemption letter should be uploaded during manuscript submission. If the work involves chemicals, procedures or equipment that have any unusual hazards inherent in their use, the author must clearly identify these in the manuscript, preferably in the materials and methods section as well as under declaration section.

In such study, the author should ensure that the manuscript contains a set of declaration with applicable statements that all procedures were performed in compliance with relevant laws and institutional ethical guidelines.

Ethical standard for Human Subjects

If the work involves the use of human subjects, the author should ensure that the manuscript contains a statement that all procedures were performed in compliance with relevant laws and institutional guidelines and that the appropriate institutional committee(s) have approved them. Scan copy of the ethical approval/exemption letter obtained from the IRB/ ethical committee/ institution head should be uploaded during manuscript submission.

A signed & informed consent letter should be obtained from the human participants by informing them purpose, benefit, risk and other associated factors with the study. Written consents must be retained by the author, if required, the editor may ask to upload scan copy or evidence that such consents have been obtained. Authors should include a statement in the manuscript that informed consent was obtained for experimentation with human subjects. The privacy rights of human subjects must always be observed.

For human subjects, the author should ensure that the work described has been carried out in accordance with The Code of Ethics of the World Medical Association (Declaration of Helsinki) for experiments involving humans. Appropriate consents and permissions must be obtained where an author wishes to include case details or other personal information or images of patients and any other individuals in the publication.

The author should ensure that all animal experiments comply with the ARRIVE & IAVE guidelines and should be carried out in accordance with the national guideline for the protection of animals used for scientific purposes. The study should not involve unnecessary pain, distress, suffering, or lasting harm to animals.
